ABSTRACT
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a lifelong developmental disability that adversely affects the ability for people to communicate verbally and non-verbally, introduce repetitive behavior and other symptoms that affect one’s ability to function normally.
It is a “spectrum condition” as it affects its patients with a wide variation in the severity and nature of symptoms.
The prevalence of ASD has been increasing amongst children across the world, with countries such as the USA seeing 1.85% of all children being diagnosed as autistic by the age of 8 in 2016, representing an increase of 10 % from 2014.
